Centacare Fraser Coast has been delivering the Centacare Pathways to Independent living (CPIL) program in the Hervey Bay area since November 2004, the program consists of:
- Supported Accommodation Assistance Program, for families and single men and women. The purpose of SAAP is to help people who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness to achieve the maximum possible degree of self-reliance and independence. In pursuing this goal, CPIL assist people at risk of becoming homeless to maintain independent accommodation by providing short-term support and case management; and provide families and single men and women with crisis or short-term accommodation, and support to deal with issues that put them at risk of becoming homeless. Centacare Fraser Coast’s CPIL program assist clients to resolve crisis, re-establish family links where appropriate and re-establish the capacity of clients to live independently of SAAP.
- Community Housing, providing community-based solutions to local housing need in Hervey Bay.
